Motorcycle crash with truck in Lamahi leaves one dead, one injured

A motorcycle collided with a stationary truck on the East-West Highway in Lamahi Municipality-5, Ratodanda, resulting in one death and one injury.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 4 AM on Tuesday when a truck with the registration number Na 5 Kha 9336 had broken down and was parked on the roadside. A motorcycle with the registration number Lu 12 Pa 9840 crashed into the back of the truck.

The motorcycle rider, identified as approximately 37-year-old Jeevan Giri from Hasanapur, Lamahi Municipality-7, succumbed to his injuries. He was taken to Lamahi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The pillion rider, approximately 32-year-old Dhaniram Chaudhary, also from the same area, sustained injuries. He is currently receiving treatment at Rapti Health Science Institute in Ghorahi.

Preliminary investigations by the Lamahi Ward Police Office suggest that the accident occurred due to the motorcycle hitting the back of the truck. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing. Both vehicles were reportedly heading westward, according to the police.
