Monsoon winds affect Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and parts of Gandaki provinces

Kathmandu – Currently, the monsoon winds are affecting all areas of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, some parts of Gandaki Province, and the eastern region of Lumbini Province. Other regions are experiencing partial effects of western and local winds.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country are generally cloudy, while the Terai is partially cloudy. Light rain with thunder and lightning is occurring in a few places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

This afternoon, the Himalayan and hilly areas of the country, as well as the Terai of Koshi Province, will generally remain cloudy. The Terai of Madhesh Province and Bagmati and Gandaki provinces will be partially cloudy, while the Terai of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces will mainly have clear weather.

There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in the Himalayan and hilly regions, and snowfall in the high Himalayan areas. There is a likelihood of moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in the Terai of Koshi Province and Madhesh Province, and in a few places in the Terai of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Similarly, the Department has indicated the possibility of hot winds in some areas of the Terai in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and a rise in temperature in some areas of the Terai in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Tonight, the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with the Terai of Koshi Province and Madhesh Province, will generally remain cloudy.

The Himalayan and hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as the Terai of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, will be partially cloudy, while the Terai of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces will mainly have clear weather.

Tonight, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning and snowfall in a few places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Lumbini Province.

The Department has reported the possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in the Terai of Koshi Province and Madhesh Province.

The Department has urged the general public in areas forecasted for hot winds and rising temperatures to exercise caution. It has also requested people to stay updated with weather-related information from the Department.
