Monsoon brings rain and thunderstorms to several provinces in Nepal today

Kathmandu – The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the monsoon winds continue to affect the country, with a likelihood of rain in most areas today.

Currently, the country is generally cloudy. Some areas in Bagmati, Koshi, and Lumbini provinces are experiencing moderate rain with thunder and lightning. According to the department, the afternoon will also see general cloudiness across the country.

In some parts of the Himalayan and hilly regions, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning, and snowfall in certain high Himalayan areas. Some areas in the Terai are also likely to experience moderate rain with thunder and lightning. Tonight, the country will remain generally cloudy.

In the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as parts of the Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Lumbini provinces, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning, along with snowfall. Additionally, some areas in the hilly and Terai regions may experience moderate rain with thunder and lightning.

The department has advised residents of the hilly and Terai regions in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces to remain cautious due to the possibility of heavy rain in a few places.
