Monsoon affects multiple provinces in Nepal, expansion expected soon

Some parts of the country are still experiencing the effects of monsoon winds. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon is currently affecting the entire Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, parts of Gandaki, and the eastern part of Lumbini Province. In other areas, there is a partial influence of western and local winds.

Additionally, the monsoon is expected to expand to the remaining parts of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, as well as the entire Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, within 2-3 days. The department reports that Koshi and Madhesh provinces, along with the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, are generally cloudy, while the Terai regions have partial cloud cover. Overall, the country is experiencing general cloudiness.

Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces, and in one or two places in Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. The department predicts general cloudiness across the country this afternoon.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in many places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in some hilly and mountainous areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Some parts of the Terai region may also experience moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning.

There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi Province. Some areas in the Terai of Koshi and Madhesh provinces may also experience strong winds. Tonight, general cloudiness is expected across the country.

Moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is possible in many places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in some hilly areas and a few mountainous areas of Lumbini Province.

In the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in one or two mountainous areas, there is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning.

In the Terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in some areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is possible. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in a few places in Koshi Province.

There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Some areas in the Terai of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as parts of Madhesh Province, may experience strong winds.
