MoHA forms committee to probe concerns raised by Prem Prasad Acharya

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has formed a committee Thursday to investigate the issues raised in a long suicidal note of Prem Prasad Acharya.

Acharya, a resident of Illam district, Province 1, self-immolated Tuesday afternoon in front of federal parliament building, Baneshwor, Kathmandu. He was rescued and taken to Nepal Cleft and Burn Center, Kirtipur with severe burn injuries. But, he died Wednesday morning while undergoing the treatment.

The committee consists of six-member under the leadership of joint-secretary Narayan Prasad Risal. Other members include under-secretaries from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Superintendent of Nepal Police and Assistant Investigation Director of National Investigation Department.

The committee probes all concerns raised in the social networking sites by Acharya and offers recommendations on those issues, according to Home Minister’s press coordinator Nabaraj Pandey.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held Wednesday afternoon decided to assign the home ministry to examine the issues and report on it at the earliest possible time.
