Moderate rainfall with thunder reported in hilly regions of Nepal

Kathmandu – Currently, Nepal is experiencing the influence of a western low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere, along with local and eastern winds.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there are partly cloudy conditions in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, as well as in the Terai areas of Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Meanwhile, the weather remains mostly clear in the rest of the Terai region. The department reports that moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is occurring in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as one or two places in Karnali province.

This afternoon, the department predicts generally cloudy conditions in the mountainous regions of the country and the hilly areas of Koshi province. Partly cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly regions of the country and the Terai areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces are expected to remain mostly clear.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning, as well as snowfall, in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

There is also a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in a few places in the Terai areas of Koshi province and one or two places in Madhes province. Some areas in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces may experience warm days.

Tonight, partly cloudy conditions are expected in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Partly cloudy conditions will also prevail in the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to the department, the weather is expected to remain mostly clear in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder, lightning, and snowfall in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi province, and light rainfall with thunder, lightning, and snowfall in one or two places in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

There is also a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in a few places in the Terai areas of Koshi province and one or two places in Madhes province.
