Currently, the country is experiencing the influence of western and local winds, along with a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region.

Due to the impact of this low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere, most parts of the country are cloudy. The Bagmati and Gandaki provinces are witnessing moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in many places. Similarly, some areas in Koshi, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces are experiencing similar weather conditions, while a few places in Madhesh and Sudurpaschim provinces are also seeing such rainfall, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

This afternoon, most parts of the country will remain partly to fully cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in some areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, as well as in the hilly and mountainous regions, with snowfall likely in the Himalayan areas.

Likewise, tonight, the Himalayan regions of the country are expected to have generally cloudy skies, while the hilly and Terai regions will see partly cloudy conditions. The department has indicated that moderate rainfall and snowfall may occur in some hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in some other regions.
