Mayor Balen warns against schools pressurizing parents to buy books and uniforms from particular stores

Balen Shah, Mayor Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has asked school managements not to compel parents to buy books and uniforms from their prescribed stores.

Mayor Balen, sharing a statement issued by KMC that it received complaints from parents about schools forcing them to buy books as well as uniforms from the designated place’ reminded that such acts are against the Institutional School Standards and Operating Guidelines, 2069.

 All the schools are requested to act adhering to the Institutional School Standards and Operating Guidelines, 2069, reads the statement.’ It also warned that any actions violating the guideline are subjected to punishment and accountability belongs to the principals.
