Maoist Center withdraws support to govt in Koshi province

The Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) has withdrawn its support to the government led by Communist party of Nepal -Unified Marxist Leninist in Koshi province.

The decision pushes the CPN-UML government into minority as it will be left with the support of 46 members–forty from the UMl and six from the Rashtriya Prajatantra party–one short of the required majority.

The Maoist decision leaves the government with two options: resign or go for trial of strength in the House.

But it is not yet clear if the parties opposed to the present government including the Nepali Congress with 29 members followed by Maoist Center (13), CPN-Unified Socialist (4) and the Janata Samajbadi Party (1) will come together to form the alternative government.
