Mahabir Pun, founder of the National Innovation Center and former Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the government’s approach.

In a statement shared on social media platform Facebook, he accused the current government of showing no interest in science, technology, research, and innovation.

Pun criticized the government’s attempt to bring innovation under the Ministry of Industry, suggesting it appears to be trying to “eradicate” the Ministry of Science and Technology.

He wrote, “Looking at social media, it seems the current government has no intention of working on science, technology, research, and innovation.”

Highlighting the broad scope of innovation, he clarified that it should not be limited to just industry.

He stated that innovation is necessary in all fields, including politics, administration, good governance, health, agriculture, education, business, life sciences, music, and literature.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the government’s lack of understanding, he remarked, “I hope I don’t have to break my head, friends in the government! Did you understand?”

Recently, Pun has been urging the government to allocate funds for the operation of the National Innovation Center and for research activities.
