Lumbini Province completes 20.87% of paddy planting across designated areas

In Lumbini Province, over 20.87% of the area has been planted with paddy. According to Sandesh Dhital, the Horticulture Director at the Agriculture Development Directorate, out of the 301,372 hectares designated for paddy planting across the province, 62,670.87 hectares have been planted so far.

District-wise, Palpa has the highest completion rate with 45% of paddy planting finished. In Palpa, out of 7,287 hectares, 3,279.4 hectares have been planted. Following Palpa, Gulmi has completed 25.77%, Rukum (East) 25%, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) 24.5%, and Bardiya 19.31% of their planting. In Dang, out of 36,200 hectares, 5,430 hectares, or 15%, have been planted with paddy.

In Arghakhanchi, 11.27% of the planting is complete, while Rolpa has achieved 4.8%. Rupandehi has completed 43% of its paddy planting, with 27,326.5 hectares planted out of 63,550 hectares.

In Kapilvastu, 15.8% of the planting is done, and Pyuthan has completed 8%. Banke has the lowest completion rate. In Banke, out of 33,780 hectares, only 168.9 hectares, or 0.5%, have been planted. As the monsoon becomes more active, the pace of paddy planting has accelerated.
