Lumbini Province assembly approves annual policy and program by majority vote

The Lumbini Province government’s annual policy and program have been passed by a majority. The eighth meeting of the eighth session of the Provincial Assembly approved the annual policy and program for the fiscal year 2083/084 by a majority vote.

Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya had proposed the approval of the annual policy and program for the fiscal year 2083/084. Speaker Tularam Ghartimagar announced the approval of the policy and program by a majority after presenting the proposal for decision. During the meeting, Chief Minister Acharya addressed questions raised about the policy and program, clarifying that the government will formulate the budget based on these policies and programs.

Opposition leader Jokh Bahadur Mahara addressed the assembly during a special session. In today’s meeting, Social Development Minister Janmajay Timilsina proposed a theoretical discussion on the ‘Bill for the Protection of Customary Traditions of the Tharu Community’. Provincial Assembly members expressed their views on the proposal, and Minister Timilsina provided responses.

Additionally, Chief Minister Acharya presented various commission annual reports to the Provincial Assembly. It was announced that information about the next meeting will be provided later.
