Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chetan Narayan Acharya has stated that the provincial government will make the upcoming fiscal year’s budget people-oriented. Speaking at the inauguration of an interaction program on ‘Law, Budget and Plan Formulation, and Parliamentary Oversight’ organized by the Provincial Governance Center in Bhalubang on Friday, Chief Minister Acharya mentioned that preparations for the policy, program, and budget for the coming year are progressing rapidly.

He emphasized that the policy, program, and budget will be inclusive of everyone’s sentiments. “We are engaged in preparing the policy, program, and budget for the upcoming year. The aim is to incorporate everyone’s sentiments,” he said. “We will bring the budget based on the policy and program.”

The inauguration event was chaired by Ujir Prasad Nyaupane, the Executive Director of the Provincial Governance Center, with Chief Minister Acharya as the chief guest. The program was attended by provincial ministers, chairpersons of parliamentary committees, and members of the Provincial Assembly.

The provincial government is preparing the upcoming budget with a focus on production, employment, infrastructure development, good governance, and social justice. Priorities include controlling current expenditure, increasing the effectiveness of capital expenditure, promoting frugality in public spending, and maintaining financial discipline.

The government plans to boost the province’s economy by increasing production and productivity through agriculture, industry, tourism, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Special priority will be given to areas that support import substitution and export promotion.

Policies are being prepared to create employment within the province through youth-targeted skill development, startups, self-employment, and innovation-based programs.

Additionally, the government aims to expand the digital governance system to make service delivery simple, fast, transparent, and citizen-friendly. The government has identified priority areas to increase the use of digital systems in revenue administration, public procurement, accounting management, and service delivery.
