In Myagdi, a landslide prevention project has been initiated at Kham Bhitta along the Beni–Jomsom–Korla road section. The Beni–Jomsom–Korla Road Project Office has launched this initiative to prevent landslides and erosion over a 300-meter stretch in the Kham Bhitta area. According to project chief Tejaswi Sharma, a contract worth Rs 70 million has been signed with a construction company for landslide control. After the completion of wall construction, bioengineering techniques will also be applied.

The landslide and erosion prevention project, with a budget of Rs 250 million, is being implemented along the 76-kilometer Beni–Jomsom–Korla road. This includes areas such as Kham Bhitta, as well as Lower and Upper Baisari in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2, Nagdhunga, Guinth Bhira, Lato Khola, Rupse, Seto Khola, and Larjung sections.

Project chief Sharma stated that technologies like ‘rock anchoring’, ‘palm walls’, ‘bioengineering’, and ‘3D mesh’ are being used for landslide prevention. The project aims to be completed within the current fiscal year.
