The Labour Culture Party took to the streets after the government deployed bulldozers in squatter settlements. This marks the first time the Labour Culture Party has staged a protest in Kathmandu, as no other political party has stepped forward in support of squatters.

With slogans such as “This country belongs to the poor too,” the Bagmati Province wing of the Labour Culture Party demonstrated at Maitighar Mandala, condemning the state’s actions against squatters and unmanaged settlements.

During the protest, participants chanted slogans like “Stop the bulldozer terror,” “Manage, don’t displace,” “Land for the landless,” “No displacement without resettlement,” and “Food, shelter, and clothing are our rights,” demanding justice through dialogue and resolution.
