KMC bans vehicular movement in Hanumandhoka premises

Kathmandu, 04 July: The Kathmandu Metropolitan has prohibited the entry of vehicles except ambulances and fire engines within the Hanumandhoka premises.

The decision is aimed at bringing pollution levels to the minimum and protecting the uniqueness and originality of the heritage. ‘This would keep the world heritage site peaceful, clean and pleasing’ said KMC Mayor Balendra Shah ‘Balen’.

Mayor Shah said in his social site that the antique heritages are our pride that we can show to the world. He said number of tourists visiting Basantapur area daily can be increased manifold in future

The KMC has banned vehicles from Salik gate, New Road  to Basantapur area, said Dhurba Bhujel, In charge of Hanuman Dhoka, Metropolitan Police Force.
