Khand released, posts 3 million bail

Kathmandu, 15 Dec: Bal Krishan Khand, leader of Nepali Congress as well as former Home Minister, facing trial in the Bhutanese Refugee Scam was today released on bail following Patan high court order.

The bench comprising judge Krihsna Ram Koirala- on Thursday had ordered the release of Khand on furnishing Rs. 3 million bail.

The bench of judges comprising Prakash Kharel and Janak Pande on December One was divided in the case. It was then forwarded to the third Judge.

Khand who was taken into the police custody on May 10 from his residence has submitted a bank guarantee of three million rupees as surety.
