Kathmandu — The festival of colors, Holi, was celebrated today with joy and exuberance across the hill districts of Nepal. Hindu devotees marked the occasion by sharing colors, exchanging greetings, and celebrating with a sense of harmony and festivity.

In Nepal, Holi is traditionally observed over two days, with the hill regions celebrating today and the Terai plains observing the festival tomorrow.

In the capital, celebrations were held at various sites, especially in the historic Basantapur area, where large numbers of young people, children and elders gathered. Both Nepali citizens and foreign visitors took part in the festivities.

Participants at Basantapur tossed vibrant colors and sprayed powder, enjoyed music and dance performances, and embraced the festive spirit. Authorities had also put in place heightened security measures to ensure public safety during the celebrations.
