The government has mobilized the postal service to make passport distribution more convenient and accessible as part of its 100-point governance reform plan.

In this context, the District Administration Office in Jhapa has assigned the responsibility to the postal office to deliver prepared passports to the respective local bodies.

During a brief program held on Tuesday, the District Administration Office handed over six passports for service recipients of Buddhashanti Rural Municipality to Tek Prasad Bhattarai, the acting chief of the District Postal Office in Jhapa. Chief District Officer Shivaram Gelal handed over the passports to Bhattarai.

This initiative is part of the government’s 100-point governance reform program aimed at providing doorstep services to citizens.

Under the new arrangement, service recipients will no longer need to travel to the district headquarters in Chandragadhi to collect their passports.

The District Administration Office will send the passports to the respective local bodies or nearby postal offices through the postal mechanism, from where service recipients can safely collect their passports.

The District Administration Office in Jhapa believes this will save time and expenses for service recipients while simplifying administrative services.
