India suspends visa service to Canada

Kathmandu, 21 Sept: With the deepening diplomatic row between India and Canada, India has temporarily suspended the visa service in Canada.

The announcement was made by the Indian High Commission in Canada, according to Indian Express.

The decision has come after a day of Indian government’s advisory asking Indian nationals in Canada to exercise utmost caution and avoid traveling there.

Prior to this, both countries had expelled senior diplomats.

The marked deterioration in Indo-Canada relation is an outcome of Prime Minister Trudeau alleging Indian hand in the killing of a pro-Khalistani Sikh leader in June in British Columbia, through his speech in Parliament three days ago.
