India reciprocates, expels Canadian diplomat

Kathmandu, 19 Sept: In an anticipated counter move India has expelled a ‘senior’ Canadian diplomat a day after Canada had expelled an Indian diplomat.

According to Indian Express, a ‘senior’ diplomat of the Canadian High Commission has been asked to leave India within five days.

The Indian government has, however, not made the name public.

The Canadian government, alleging that there were credible intelligence reports about the involvement of the Indian Government in the killing of a pro-Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia in June, had expelled Pavan Kumar Rai, an intelligence officer posted there yesterday.
