HoR session adjourns for the day

Kathmandu, 09 Apr: The session of the House of the Representatives (HoR) has been adjourned for the day without transacting any business today.

A notice was issued by the House Speaker after the opposition Nepali Congress (NC) took a rigid stand not to let the house transact listed business if the government did not agree to form a parliamentary committee to investigate into corruption charges against Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Home Ministry Rabi Lamichhane in the cooperative he is involved.

The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, had reiterated the demand for formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate the cooperative fraud scam.

The Parliamentary Party meeting of the NC held this morning under the chairmanship of President Sher Bahadur Deuba took the decision in this regard.

Today’s meeting of the NC Parliamentary Party demanded for formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate the cooperative fraud scam alleging the involvement of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Rabi Lamichhane, in embezzling the cooperative amount, said NC Chief Whip, Ramesh Lekhak had informed after the meeting.
