Home Ministry asks Private Sector to declare public holidays during Election

The Ministry of Home Affairs has asked Private sector to shut down for two days to create a conducive atmosphere for the General Election. Fanindraramani Pokharel, joint secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, has written to the Umbrella organisations of private business and industries including the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Confederation of Nepalese Industries, Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries, Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs, Joint Trade Union Coordination Center and Air Service Operators Association to observe two days Holiday on Sunday and Monday (Nov 20/21).

Similar request has been made with the international Non-Government bodies and their local partners.

The government has already declared that government bodies and public sectors would be observing November 20 and 21 as Holidays, whereas there will be four-days public holiday beginning on Friday across the country that will include all the educational institutions.
