High Court clears ‘Lalibazar’ for release after interim order lifted

Kathmandu – The film ‘Lalibazar’, which had its screening halted due to a short-term interim order from the High Court, is set to be released from Friday.

Executive producer Rabindra Singh Baniya informed that the High Court Patan has cleared the way for the film’s screening.

A bench comprising judges Khadananda Tiwari and Netraprakash Acharya at the High Court Patan refused to issue an interim order against ‘Lalibazar’ on Wednesday.

Previously, on Baisakh 15, the High Court had issued a short-term interim order instructing that the film not be screened immediately.

Presented by Shatkon Arts and directed by Yam Thapa, ‘Lalibazar’ features actors Swastima Khadka, Bishal Devkota, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Samaira Thapa, Prashansa Subedi, Mukund Kumar Shrestha, Abhay Baral, and Asha Paudel, among others. The film narrates the story of the Badi community.

The film was initially scheduled to be released on Baisakh 18.
