Kathmandu – In the Hayu murder case, the body of another young man has also been found, police say. In connection with the murder of 25-year-old Keshavraj Hayu, another victim’s body was discovered Monday morning in the Lakuri Bhanjyang area of Suryavinayak Municipality-7, Bhaktapur, police spokesperson Chakraraj Joshi of the Lalitpur Police Range said.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Paruhang Rai of Arun Rural Municipality-3 in Bhojpur. He had been living in Lubhu, Lalitpur.

Six days earlier, on Mangsir 2, Hayu’s body was found in a well in Golnjor Rural Municipality-3, Sindhuli, wrapped in a sack after being killed.

After two suspects were arrested in connection with Hayu’s killing, it emerged that Rai had also been murdered. Last night, police arrested Devraj Dhungel (Hayu’s brother-in-law) and Jayaram Adhikari on murder charges.

The suspects told police that they killed Rai and dumped his body in the forest, prompting a search for him. Rai’s body also showed signs of injury, police said. “When the suspects spoke about Rai’s killing during interrogation, we conducted a search and found his body,” SP Joshi said.

Police investigations revealed that both victims were preparing to go abroad. The two had been working at an agricultural farm in Lubhu, Lalitpur. The motive for their murders has not yet been disclosed by police.
