Kathmandu – Harka Sampang, the chairperson of the opposition Labour Power Party, has remarked that the public feels insecure due to the government itself.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, he questioned whether Prime Minister Balen Shah has become incompetent and incapable of answering the people’s questions.

He stated, “Is there a Prime Minister in this government? If there is, should the Prime Minister not address Parliament? Shouldn’t the head of the government answer the questions raised by the MPs? Not responding to MPs’ questions in Parliament is understood as not answering the people’s questions. Failing to answer the people’s questions is a sign of incompetence and incapability. Has our Prime Minister become incompetent and incapable?”

He argued that Prime Minister Shah cannot ensure the safety of the people’s lives and property, nor can he secure the borders, thus it is not possible to call the government successful.

He further said, “At this time, people feel insecure because of the government itself. Should the people have to live in fear of the government? Is this what democracy is? How can a government that cannot ensure the safety of the people’s lives and property, and cannot secure the borders, be called a successful government?”
