Kathmandu – Harka Sampang, the chairperson of the Labour Culture Party, has stated that Prime Minister Balen Shah should apologize in Parliament.

Speaking to journalists after a meeting of the House of Representatives, he said that the Prime Minister’s remarks were against national interest and required an apology.

Sampang expressed suspicion that the Prime Minister’s comments might have been made to appease India. He criticized Shah’s statement that “Nepal has encroached on India’s border”, saying it poses a threat to the country’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and security.

He further demanded that the Prime Minister clarify where and how much land Nepal has encroached upon in India.

He said, “What he said is completely wrong; the executive head should not speak in that manner. His remarks threaten our country’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and security. Following his statement, there have been reports of Indian forces entering with weapons and various plans being halted. He must correct his erroneous statement and apologize in the House.”

Sampang warned that unless Prime Minister Shah apologizes in Parliament, no other discussions will take place there. He noted that discussions on the budget are not more important than national sovereignty.
