Govt forms a dialogue committee to address victims of exorbitant interest from private money lenders

The government has formed a committee to negotiate with the victims of exorbitant interest rates from private money lenders.

The committee is led by Rudra Devi Sharma, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The other members include undersecretaries Dilkumar Tamang, Umakanta Adhikari and Janga Bahadur Dangal.

The committee will shortly meet the victims and submit its preliminary assessment to the Prime Minister who will have the matter discussed in the cabinet today itself.

The victims of private money lenders are protesting at the federal capital to let the government hear their problems. The victims from different areas in Tarai have arrived in Kathmandu marching all the way for 11 days.

Earlier in the morning, they have marched from ‘Khula Manch’ to Baluwatar and protested at Baluwatar chanting different slogans and carrying play cards.
