Govt. addresses squatters issues within a week: PM Dahal

Kathmandu, Nov 28: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the government would soon amend laws to ensure that landless people get possession and ownership of the land.

He said a decision to this effect has been taken by the cabinet on Sunday. Accordingly, land ownership certificates would be distributed after the amendment, he added.

During a website launch of the CPN (Maoist Centre) at the party central office in Paris Danda on Monday, PM Dahal said, ‘existing laws will be amended to resolve the difficulties faced by squatters and unsettled citizens. The Forest Act, 2029 is hindering development.’

On the occasion PM Dahal reiterated that the government is making honest efforts to work for the cause of the people and the country.
