Gold Prices Surge by NPR 14,400 in Single Day

Kathmandu — Gold and silver prices climbed again in local markets today, with both precious metals recording gains compared with Tuesday trading, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association.

Fine gold, measured per tola (approximately 11.66 grams), was trading at NPR 304,700 on Wednesday — up from NPR 290,300 the previous day — reflecting a sharp single-day rise of NPR 14,400. Silver also edged higher, with today’s rate at NPR 5,600 per tola, up from NPR 5,500.

In international markets, spot gold also strengthened, holding above the $5,000-per-ounce mark, while silver gained ground, according to global price data.
