Kathmandu, 14 November 2025 — The French Embassy in Nepal has awarded a grant of €4,000 to the Radha Paudel Foundation for a new initiative promoting menstrual dignity among youth. The project, titled “Strengthen Youth Leadership on Menstrual Dignity for Preventing Gender-Based Violence in Nepal,” will be carried out throughout 2026.

The funding will help empower young people across Nepal to lead conversations and actions around menstrual hygiene, closing gaps in education and stigma at various societal levels. The initiative is framed as a learning-driven effort to integrate menstrual dignity into gender-based violence prevention.

French Ambassador to Nepal, Virginie Corteval, emphasized that the support mirrors France’s broader commitment to “feminist diplomacy,” placing the rights of women and girls and gender equality at the heart of its international agenda.

By backing the Radha Paudel Foundation, the Embassy reaffirms its long-term dedication to gender rights. The Foundation itself is known for its holistic strategy to end gender-based violence, combining advocacy, research, training, and public awareness campaigns through the Dignified Menstruation Campaign Nepal, which operates in all seven provinces.

The Radha Paudel Foundation (RPF) is a woman-led non-governmental organization. Its work on dignified menstruation includes knowledge-building webinars, community trainings, publications, and policy advocacy.
