Foreign Minister Saud flying to Israel in the rescue mission

Media briefing at MoFA

Kathmandu, 11 Oct: Foreign Affairs Minister N P Saud will be flying to Israel tomorrow in a special Aircraft to bring 250 Nepalis back home.

The flight to Israel that was previously said to depart tonight has been rescheduled for Thursday.

Joint secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Spokesperson Sewa Lamsal at a media briefing held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier today said the Minister will accompany back 250 Nepalis from Israel in the same Nepal Airlines aircraft.

Out of 4,500 Nepalis working there, more than 350 have expressed willingness to come back home. The government will be making further arrangements for their return.

Lamsal, however, clarified that the special aircraft that the minister will be boarding will not carry any dead bodies back home and arrangements will be made separately for that.

Lamsal complimented the Ambassador and other staff of the mission in Israel who she said were working round the clock from bunkers.
