Finance minister announces Janakpurdham development as wedding destination in budget plan

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has announced plans to develop Janakpurdham, the birthplace of Sita and the capital of Madhes, as a wedding destination. This announcement was made through the budget presented in the federal Parliament for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.

He stated that budget allocations have been made for the upgrading of the Ramjanaki Path and the Ramjanaki Parikrama Road. The budget statement also mentions allocations for the development of the Hulaki Road and railway, which are considered lifelines of Madhes Province, as well as the development and upgrading of the East-West Highway, nutrition programs, and sectors such as education, health, and sports in Madhes.

The announcement by Finance Minister Dr. Wagle has been positively received in the province. Surendra Bhandari, President of the Janakpurdham Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed that this announcement by the current government will significantly increase the number of tourists in Janakpurdham and create an environment for employment.

Additionally, he noted that the tax relief measures introduced in the budget have provided relief to industrialists and businesspeople, which will support industries and businesses.

Similarly, local journalist Ranjan Mishra remarked that the announcement of budget allocation for the welfare fund for journalists is a positive step.
