Farmers held sit-in protest, demand resignation of Agriculture Minister (Pictures)

Kathmandu, 28 July: Rashtriya Kisan Sanjal (National Farmers’ Network) has today staged a sit-in protest at the office of the Kalimati Vegetable and Fruit Market Development Committee.

The farmers associated with the Sanjal, carrying placards, gathered outside the Committee office and began the protest.

The protestors demanded the resignation of the Agriculture Minister upon failure to address their demands.

Their demands include cancellation of all lease agreements effected without competition, renting shutters and stalls in the Market through open competition and ensuring half of the shutters and stalls to the farmers engaged in production among others.
