Donald Trump arrested on criminal charges

Donald Trump, former President of the United States, has been arrested on criminal charges to 34 felony counts, according to US media.

Trump was arrested Tuesday following his indictment by the New York grand jury setting a record that a former president has been held for criminal charges.

Trump was charged with paying hush money to Stormy Daniels, adult film star during his 2016 presidential election campaign.

“The charges against him stem from an investigation into a hush money payment to an adult film actress in 2016. Prosecutors alleged the former president sought to undermine the integrity of the 2016 election and was part of an unlawful plan to suppress negative information”, says CNN adding “Trump denies all wrongdoing and his lawyers have said they’ll fight to get the charges drop”.
