Czech Republic and South Africa draw 1-1 in World Cup match

The match between the Czech Republic and South Africa in the second round of the group stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026 ended in a draw. In the Group ‘A’ match held today at the Atlanta Stadium in America, the Czech Republic was held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa after failing to maintain their lead.

Michal Sadilek of the Czech Republic scored in the sixth minute, giving his team the initial lead. However, in the 83rd minute, South Africa equalized through a penalty. The penalty was awarded after the ball touched the hand of a Czech Republic player inside the box. Taking advantage of this opportunity, South African player Teboho Mokoena scored the goal.
