Cold affecting lives in Terai, schools closed to avoid chilling atmosphere

The locals have said cold waves and fog have affected life in the central and southern belt of the district.

Local levels in Mahottari district have begun closing down schools issuing a notice that they took decisions to close schools due to increasing cold.

Nine local levels in the district issued notice to close down schools for four to eight days citing the chilling atmosphere since Monday morning.

Among 15 local levels, 11 have issued notices informing that it would be the winter vacation. Although four local levels have not decided for the school closure, the number of students attending class has sharply.
