CM Jammakattel, Bagmati Province to seek vote of confidence today

Chief Minister of the Bagmati Province, Shalikram Jammakattel is taking a vote of confidence for the second time today.

Five political parties including the CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre) had joined the coalition government led by CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Jammakattel.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) had already quitted the Jammakattel-led government.

Also, ULM today decided to quit Bagmati Province government. Jagannath Thapaliya, CPN-UML’s leader as well as spokesperson of Bagmati Province Government Leader of CPN (UML), who is also the spokesperson of Bagmati Province Government, confirmed that his party’s ministers will resign from the ministerial berth after addressing the province assembly meeting.

The province assembly meeting is scheduled at 3 pm today.

It is said that Nepali Congress (NC) will join the Bagmati Province Government after the UML leaders’ resignation from their ministerial position.

As the RPP and UML withdrew their support Chief Minister Jammakattel is taking a vote of confidence today in accordance with Article 188 (2) of the Constitution.
