China bans short term visas for South Koreans

China has suspended various forms of short term visas to South Koreans.

The Chinese embassy in South Korea has said visas for business, tourism, medical treatment, transit and general private affairs are suspended for South Koreans, according to the South China Morning Post.

The ban would apply until South Korea lifted its discriminatory measures on entrance by China to the country, mentions AP News, adding that China suspended visas Tuesday for South Koreans to come to the country for tourism or business in apparent retaliation for COVID-19 testing requirements on Chinese travelers.
