By-election concludes with around 60 per cent voter turnout

Kathmandu, 23 Apr: The polling for by-election in three parliamentary constituencies passed off peacefully by and large with an average 59 per cent votes cast.

Tanahu-1, Bara-2, and Chitwan-2 had by-election held Sunday and they were held peacefully except some sporadic incidents in Chitwan 2.

Initial reports from the Election Commission shows around 53 per cent votes were cast in Tanahu-1, followed by 64 per cent in Bara-2 and 63 per cent in Chitwan-2.

The ballot boxes have been transported to the Chief Returning Officers in the three constituencies and final results would be known by April 25.
