Birgunj Mayor Rajeshman Singh arrested for alleged citizenship document fraud

Birgunj – The Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City, Rajeshman Singh, has been arrested.

He was taken into custody this morning by police from the border area between Parsa and Chitwan. Parsa Police spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raju Karki, confirmed Singh’s arrest.

An arrest warrant was issued against him by the district court on Jestha 8 for investigation related to a citizenship document offense.

A complaint was filed against Mayor Singh, alleging that he prepared fake documents to claim someone else’s daughter as his own to obtain citizenship for her. The police have detained him to advance the investigation into this case.

The police are preparing to present Mayor Singh, who was arrested from the border area, in court today. Parsa Police stated that after presenting him in court, they will seek an extension of the remand to proceed with the necessary legal processes.
