Anurag Maloo may be flown to India for further treatment

Kathmandu, 8 May:  Indian mountaineer Anurag Maloo, now recuperating in a Kathmandu Hospital, may be flying back to his country for further treatment soon.

Maloo, 34 will be flying to India for further treatment, Mediciti hospital sources told Deshsanchar, adding ‘decision to refer him to India is being taken on the request of his family’.

Maloo, who gave up the expedition to climb 8,091 m Annapurna peak on April 16, had been rescued from a deep crevasse between camp three and camp two of the Mt Annapurna on April 17, 68-hours after he fell down there.

He had been receiving treatment in the Medicity Hospital since April 20. ‘Maloo is stable, but still not able to be out of the ventilator’, Hospital sources said.

He had developed signs of gangrene- and ‘that takes a long duration treatment’ hospital said, adding he might fly back today itself or tomorrow.
