Kathmandu, 22 Nov: Israel has approved a hostage-release deal with Hamas.

The deal sees release of 50 hostages, with four-day pause, at the first phase, said international media.

Hamas attack in Israel on October 7 killed around 1200 people and more than 200 were held hostage. Ten times more people had died in the attack by Israel that followed.

The deal was the result of weeks of extensive negotiations involving the United States, Qatar, Egypt, Hamas, and Israel, said the Epoch Times quoting the White House.

“Qatar has served as a mediator in the negotiations between Hamas and Israel. Earlier, Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said the hostage release proposal was sent to Israel on Tuesday,” it added.
