Former Prime Ministers Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal met with Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala.

The meeting took place on Friday morning at Koirala’s residence in Biratnagar, lasting around 45 minutes.

Recently, leaders from various parties have grown concerned as the government led by the Rastriya Swatantra Party has begun arresting them on charges of corruption and money laundering. On Monday, the government arrested Bishnu Poudel, Vice-Chairman of the CPN-UML, on money laundering charges.

Additionally, the government’s decision to block the passport of businessman Ajay Sumargi has stirred the Communist Party of Nepal. Dahal and Nepal visited Koirala’s residence to discuss this issue, according to a source close to Koirala.

Sumargi is known to be close to Dahal. The government’s move to investigate Sumargi may have increased Dahal’s unease, the source suggested.

During the meeting with Koirala, Dahal expressed the view that parties such as the Congress, UML, and CPN should form a united front against the government.
