Kathmandu – Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader and MP Gyanendra Shahi has accused the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) of being politicized for the past 35 years and consistently protecting major corrupt figures.

Expressing his views via social media platform Facebook, Shahi claimed that the body meant to protect against corruption has itself become a predator.

Addressing the Prime Minister, Shahi urged the immediate opening of 65 major corruption case files, including those related to Ncell, the wide-body aircraft purchase, and the Melamchi project, which have been gathering dust in the commission’s drawers.

He noted that these files are in a state of neglect, collecting dust and being gnawed by mice, and demanded that they be opened by any means necessary (whether by binding or sealing) to bring the “big fish” within the legal framework.

Shahi expressed his commitment to supporting the government in this anti-corruption initiative.
