Police officer dies in motorcycle collision in Sunsari, driver flees scene

A police officer died in a road accident last night in Bhantabari, Koshi Rural Municipality-8, Sunsari. District Police Office Sunsari’s Deputy Superintendent of Police, Chandra Bahadur Khadka, informed that 32-year-old police officer Randip Paudel, a resident of Triyuga Municipality-2, lost his life.

Paudel was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding, with the registration number Sa11Pa 2500, collided with a city safari vehicle, registration number Pr 1-02-003 Ha 1052. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment, according to police reports.

Paudel was stationed at the Koshi Barrage Police Post. Following the accident, the city safari driver, 44-year-old Razak Miyan, also known as Pune Khan from Koshi Rural Municipality-8, fled the scene. The District Police Office has stated that a search for him is ongoing. Further investigation into the incident is underway, the police have reported.
