Rabindra Dhant reaches ‘Road to UFC’ semifinals, thanks Nepali supporters

Nepali MMA fighter Rabindra Dhant has expressed gratitude to all Nepali supporters after reaching the semifinals of ‘Road to UFC’.

He said, “Thanks to all the supporters, especially the Nepalis who came to support me from everywhere.” He also thanked his coach and the UFC.

In the quarterfinals of ‘Road to UFC’ Season 5 held today at the Galaxy Arena in Macau, Rabindra defeated the Philippines’ Kimbert Alintozon in the second round to advance to the semifinals.

Thousands of Nepali supporters turned up to cheer for Rabindra, and he shared his happiness with the Nepali audience. Dhant has become the first Nepali fighter to win a fight in ‘Road to UFC’.

Rabindra will face the winner between Japan’s Yunosuke Minami and New Zealand’s Kasib Murdoch in the semifinals. Initially, Rabindra was set to fight Matty Ian, but after Matty was injured, he was replaced by the Philippines’ Kimbert Alintozon. Competing in the bantamweight category, if Rabindra wins this weight class, he will become the first Nepali to earn a UFC contract.
