President Ram Chandra Paudel has emphasized the importance of the younger generation benefiting from the knowledge and skills of senior citizens. He expressed this view while inaugurating an international conference on the ‘Transfer of Knowledge and Skills of Senior Citizens’ organized by the Manmohan Memorial Foundation.

Defining senior citizens as a distinct segment of society, he stressed the need to ensure their rights to healthcare, proper nutrition, and a dignified life. President Paudel voiced concern over the neglect faced by senior citizens due to increasing urbanization, youth migration for foreign employment, and family misunderstandings.

He also portrayed Manmohan Adhikari as South Asia’s first elected leftist prime minister and a leader known for his simplicity and humility.
