Nepse index rises by 6.94 points with Rs 2.931 billion turnover

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a slight improvement today. The NEPSE index increased by 6.94 points, reaching 2,718.16.

Today, shares of 334 companies were traded, with a total of 6.684 million shares exchanged in 45,065 transactions, amounting to a turnover of Rs 2.931 billion, according to NEPSE.

The banking sector rose by 0.33%, development banks by 0.29%, hotels and tourism by 0.20%, life insurance by 0.30%, microfinance by 0.35%, trading by 1.57%, and the others group by 0.83%. All other sector sub-indices declined.

The finance sector decreased by 0.08%, investment by 0.07%, manufacturing and processing by 0.08%, mutual funds by 0.16%, and non-life insurance by 0.56%.

In today’s trading, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited recorded the highest turnover, amounting to Rs 176.833 million. Based on the number of shares traded, National Hydropower Company Limited had the highest volume, with 526,682 shares bought and sold, according to NEPSE.
