A complaint has been filed at the Bhaktapur District Administration Office against internet service provider Classic Tech, accusing the company of negligence and misconduct towards its customers.

Shiv Prakash, a resident of Thimi, Naya Basti in Bhaktapur, lodged the complaint demanding compensation of 1 million rupees, claiming that the company failed to provide internet service and instead caused him mental distress.

According to the complainant, the internet installed on April 14 was completely disrupted from April 22. Despite making over 50 calls and messages to restore the service, the company ignored the requests, and representatives responded irresponsibly and disrespectfully, as stated in the complaint.

The complainant alleged that company staff gave contradictory and false excuses such as “the electricity pole has been moved” or “another company cut the wire” and would hang up the phone without resolving the issue. Shiv Prakash also accused the company of lacking transparency in payment processes, stating that even after paying for new cable installation, he did not receive the service and was denied a refund when requested.

Citing repeated requests for service restoration, mental anguish, and wasted time, the complainant demanded compensation of 1 million rupees under the Consumer Protection Act. He also urged the Chief District Officer to take strict legal action against such companies that deceive the public with false offers.
